December 13, 2008 - Saturday

My appetite finally surfaced last night at a Christmas party. I worked hard all day and I wound up eating a couple of large sandwiches because I ate dinner later than I usually do. I avoided the sugar cookies and other junky treats like the plague. My total calories for the day? 1,510.

It seems so high to me and though it probably isn't to others. My stomach actually hurt for an hour or so. Good thing we wound up walking home from the train station. I felt much better when we got home. I drank tea and then went to bed.

Are the holidays over yet?

5:45am - 2 eggs with veggie patty, mayo, mustard, spices (300)
12:30pm - Same (300)
Dinner: 2 Chicken Parm sandwiches (tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, chicken breast), on bulkie rolls. (They were good!) - 910 calories

Ciao!

I wonder if your carbs are too low, killing your appetite? I don't think 1500 calories is high at all. In fact, it's hard for me not to come here every day and tell you to eat more, though I truly think you should.

I think I have to agree with that assessment! I know my nutritionist wanted me to do more carb days but it seems so much easier to eat the same things every day. I'm busy at work during the day and at the gym after 5pm. I promised her I would do that and according to my daily menus I haven't.

Lora, I studied nutrition in college and have a minor degree in it. I also read and evaluated every research papre that come out in recent years. Its a passion of mine. I work at Suny Downstate At Brooklyn with Dr Feinman, dont know if you heard of him. He is a good friend of Dr Eades. I met Dr Eades once and I had lunch with Feinman 100 times. We always discuss nutrition and I even got him to join the gym for a second, lol, he is not an exercise rat for sure. I foolow your blog all the time, and I was a bit worried about your calories intake. But let me give you a wise word of advice, lol or at least I think its wise. Dont listen to so called nutrition experts, there are none! Listen to your body, it is your best friend and expet. Your body will always let you know when to take more calories. If you feel fine on eating eggs and patty every day, and not hungry and energetic go on. Just make sure you take multi vitamins and other things as well. Stay strong and good luck in your daily endeavours. BTW, how much have you lost so far since no sweet challenge? Whats your goal?

Hi, Vadim!

I am in the 120's! But my main goal is to get toned. I go to the gym 5 to 6 days a week and I am changing my weight-training schedule. Less cardio and more weight-training.

sounds like a plan!

Hello!

You'll need a lot of protein to tone your muscle. Read up on it. I haven't been following your blog, so you may already have a plan for this.
