Day One:
I'm channeling my friend's 7-Day plan this week and giving it a whirl until Sunday.
Today's Menu (Adding calorie counts - mainly for my benefit.):
Breakfast: 3 fried eggs with 4oz. non-fat cottage cheese, some hot salsa on top (325 calories)
Lunch: Veggie Patty on whole wheat roll, 6 carrots, a dollop of low-fat ranch dressing, hot mustard onto the roll, an 3 green grapes my boss gave me.
(280 calories)
Snack: 80 Calorie Dannon (Coconut/pineapple) non-fat yogurt.
Dinner: Not sure as yet. My total calorie intake should be about 1400 to 1500 calories daily. I have over 715 calories to use for my dinner.
I thought 3 scrambled eggs with broccoli with red and green peppers sounded good. If I am still hungry I will have a chocolate whey protein shake.
Day Two:
stayed within my calorie allotment but I did not have a protein shake last evening.
Today's menu:
Breakfast: 3 eggs scrambled, tuna with 2 T of light ranch dressing, Mustard, 1T of non-fat cottage cheese, hot sauce. (460 Calories)
Snack: 1 hard boiled egg (80 Calories)
Lunch: Veggie Patty on whole wheat roll, 11 carrots, hot mustard onto the roll. (234 Calories)
Snack: 80oz. Dannon yogurt
Dinner: Veggie Patty on whole wheat roll, 1 scrambled egg, 1T of dressing, some hot mustard (320 calories)
Snack: 1 hard-boiled egg (80 calories)

A message from John E. Tiedt, Esq.
To all Ducks
Today, October 29, 2010, Judge Rick Brown of the Riverside County Superior Court entered a verdict for the plaintiffs in a certified national class action lawsuit. The court entered a verdict against Heidi Diaz the owner of the diet website Kimkins.com for fraud and false advertising. The court awarded the class members restitution in the amount of $1,824,210.39. The court also awarded an additional $500,000 in punitive damages as well as attorney fees. The court then issued a temporary restraining order to freeze all of the assets of Ms. Diaz.
Most notably, the court also imposed an injunction requiring Heidi Diaz to post on all of her websites that: (1) she lied about her weight loss; (2) she lied about her after diet pictures; (3) she lied about testimonials on her website; and (4) she lied about the photographs used with the testimonials to promote the Kimkins website.
An injunction was also issued to prevent Heidi Diaz from contracting, harassing or cyberbulling the plaintiffs and the witnesses. A formal judgment will be entered before November 19, 2010.
The original complaint was filed over three years ago on October 15, 2007. I want to thank everyone who supported the class action lawsuit. The Ducks were wonderful. I met a lot of great people and made a lot of new friends fighting for a good cause. Heidi Diaz lied on her website and made the fatal mistake of lying in the courtroom. You cannot trust Heidi Diaz. I anticipate more legal (illegal) maneuvering by Heidi Diaz to evade the judgment. We will be prepared and I will be relentless. Again, I thank all you.

This weekend I got married to the most wonderful man in the world.
Now it is time for me to get back on track with my eating and exercise. Over the past month I've completely ignored both and it shows. The first order of business is to clean up my eating. Avoid flour, sugar, and starches. Secondly, get my butt back to the gym to get the blood flowing again.
I know this will not be easy but I must do this. I do not like the way my body looks or the way I feel.
Should I go back to what works best? Only time will tell.
Here is a picture of us at the wedding. :)

Getting married on August 20th.
Hello everybody!
I haven't had a lot of time lately to write. These days my eating is all over the map. Not sure what plan to follow and I consider it a successful week if I can get to the gym at least 3 days out of 7!
See you in September! Full speed ahead!
Ciao.

Off weekend but back on track today...
I spoke to my trainer today and she looked over my menu and said to begin adding the low-carb veggies in tonight for dinner (since I already ate my lunch of cottage cheese, eggs whites, and turkey burger) and from now on for lunch and dinner. And I should cut down on my cottage cheese (sodium), too. Otherwise, I'm on the right track!
Wednesday, we (re)begin the weight training since she's back from vacation!
Today's menu:
Breakfast: 2 whole eggs scrambled with 1/3 non-fat cottage cheese, 6 peel n'eat shrimp, mustard, hot sauce

Day 5 of Dukan and the end of the Attack phase.
Day 4 went off without a hitch. I was able to add the oat bran to the plan.
Have I lost weight? I am so afraid to get on the scale! I feel smaller.
Today is my last day of the Attack phase and honestly, since doing more research about the Dukan plan and reading the Dukan forums in French..(well..I did translate them to English), it looks like I'm on the right path!!!
I could not be more pleased! Here's the clincher! I had TOM the entire week of the Attack phase! The binge monster stayed at bay. I am so deep into ketosis it isn't even funny. Right now, I'm trying to eat my breakfast of 3 egg whites, turkey burger, 1/3 cup of non-fat cottage cheese with mustard and hot sauce. It tastes good but my appetite is decreasing.
Tomorrow will be the next test and onto the Cruise phase.

Oops! My Bad!
I was told my method of Attack was all wrong! I should have added Oat Bran (about 1-1/2T daily) and eat less eggs, preferably egg whites.
Seems like the Attack phase is mostly made up of non-fat dairy and lean meat. Oh, well! Anyway, I feel pretty good and I'm on Day 3 of the Dukan/Stillman's plan. Less bloated but the fatigue is definitely there today. I know I'll be in bed early again tonight.
My menu for today:
Breakfast: 3 eggs scrambled with 1/2 cup of non-fat cottage cheese, mustard, hot sauce
Snack One: 1/2 cup of non-fat plain yogurt with cinnamon
Lunch: 3 hard-boiled eggs with 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, homemade tofu burger patty, mustard, hot sauce
Snack Two: 1 hard-boiled egg with a few ounces of smoked turkey
Dinner: 2 hard-boiled eggs, tuna made with yogurt/spice blend, 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, mustard, hot sauce
Of course, lots of water.
Today at the gym: 20 minutes of HIIT on the elliptical.

Duking It Out With Dukan (Day Two)
Going on Day 2 of the Attack phase and according to "My Personal Slimming Plan" I am on the right track. I think though I will continue the phase until Friday. Knowing how I am with carbs, I want to go a bit further in the "Attack" until I succeed into the "Cruise" phase. I must confess something! I am eating whole eggs. None of this egg white business. I guess that makes it Stillman's based??I'm not eating red meat of any kind. Checks and balances.
My menu today:
Breakfast: 3 WHOLE eggs scrambled with 1/2 cup of non-fat cottage cheese, hot sauce and mustard
Snack One: 1/2 Cup of Non-Fat plain yogurt with cinnamon
Lunch: 3 hard-boiled eggs with turkey patty, 1/2 Cup of non-fat cottage cheese, mustard, hot sauce
Snack Two: 1 hard-boiled egg with 3 oz. of deli turkey
Dinner: 2 hard-boiled eggs, 2 oz. of chicken breast, 4oz. of smoked salmon, 1/2 cup of non-fat cottage cheese, mustard, hot sauce.

Viva la Dukan?
Over the years I've researched and became a guinea pig to many different ways of eating. I enjoy reading the variety of slimming plans that come from Europe. The one I linked above is not new in the least. Dukan's initial fast weight loss in the first week is basically a recycling of Stillman's.
Dr. Dukan's "Attack"
Dr. Stillman's - "Quick Weight Loss"
Today, I started in the first phase "Attack" or "QWL" phase this week. I will concentrate on my eating and do moderate exercise such as biking and the elliptical. I know from past experiences my body experiences major fatigue once I reach ketosis by the third day. I don't want to mess around this time and am following the plan(s) to the letter.

Trainer's Revenge!!
Since, I was a lazy girl on Sunday, my trainer beefed up my back and biceps routine last evening! Whoa, Nelly! Though I am supposed to do abs 3 days a week, I did a couple of sets on the Roman chair for good measure.
However, she really wants me to concentrate on my eating according to her guidelines and not deviate. I would describe as being more Stillman based except with the addition of apples, grapefruit, almonds, and sweet potatoes. I do not use mayo, oils, or consume olives at this time.
I'm giving this a go! I really want to fit into that wedding dress of mine!!

I got a new trainer and she said.."STOP with the Egg Insanity!"
The past week has been difficult keeping up with new training techniques. I'm on a Buff Bride regimen and Sandy, my new trainer, is a tough no nonsense gal. She looked over my menus over the past couple of weeks and could pinpoint exactly what I was doing wrong eating wise. She has lots of fitness nutrition experience.
First off, I'm sick of eating only eggs/meat/fat. I enjoy having more variety and less likely to binge. Secondly, I never was able to sustain enough energy to complete my workouts at the gym. Very frustrating! And last, I need to repair my broken down metabolism. Too many ups and downs over the past few months. My body shuts down when dealing with stress.
Here is the menu I ate yesterday:
Breakfast: 1/2 Cup of Non-fat plain yogurt mixed with 1oz. of cooked steel cut oatmeal with cinnamon, half an apple.
Snack: 1 hardboiled egg
Lunch: Mixed greens with green beans, broccoli, 4oz. of turkey burger, 1/2 cup of non-fat cottage cheese, 2T of red wine vinegar, and spicy brown mustard with cayenne pepper.
Snack 2: 1 hardboiled egg
Dinner: Mixed greens, Light Ranch dressing, baked chicken
I did feel satisfied after what I ate yesterday. Let's hope this feeling continues throughout the weekend. The weekends are the first test!
Talk to you later and c'est la vie to the egg/protein fat fast!

Here I go again!
I'm doing well on the eggs'travaganza! I don't feel as hungry as I thought I'd be. The eggs/butter/mayo combo fills me up! I also eat some type of meat to go along with the eggs at dinner. I will give this my all since I have a target date of August 21, 2010 to think about. I will weigh myself once a week on Monday. Here is the template I copied from a young lady at one of the best forums I belong to.

Not the greatest of days..
Breakfast was a dismal affair. I wound up eating a sausage and cheese on an english muffin at Mickie D's.
Lunch: Lamb Kabob with salad (I know what happened to the eggs, meat, etc., right? Stress!)
Dinner was better. Tuna made with ranch dressing, plain yogurt, mustard, hot salsa, chili powder, and 3 scrambled eggs cooked with real butter.
Had a bit of trouble at home this morning courtesy of an old hair dryer that decided to send a shot of electricity up my arm and sparks come flying out of the outlet causing the power to go out. The landlord was on top of it and had someone fix it. Good! So I had to break into my going out money and buy a new hair dryer! Maybe this is a good thing. I don't want to go to bars because that's where the bad habits start tumbling out and I wind up at Taco Bell at 1am!
On a side note...Chuck and I set up a wedding date of August 21, 2010. That's 5 months to do the impossible. And I want to look snazzy so my dress will be the last thing I buy. (Shapewear is still my friend though!)
Back to the drawing board tomorrow! Take care!

Wow! What a month!
First off, I'm engaged to be married!
Secondly, I decided to join Jimmy Moore on his egg'stra special experiment and see if I can lose some of this lousy flab. Eggs it is! Yet, I'm forgoing the butter and cheese. Cheese binds me. Mayo seems to be a tastier option.
I'll keep you posted!
My menu today (Day One)
Breakfast: 3 eggs scrambled, mayo, mustard, and salsa (Green Tea)
Snack: One hardboiled egg sprinkled with chili powder (Water)
Lunch: 3 egg salad with mayo, mustard (Yes..I drank a diet soda! What the heck is wrong with me??)
Snack: One hardboiled egg sprinkled with chili powder (Water)
Dinner: Same as Breakfast (Though I may drink a diet soda or black coffee)
This is not a challenge. I'm just doing it.
Exercise today is elliptical then onto the rowing machine for a total body workout.
Cheers!

Feeling like a failure...
One of my male (rather blunt) co-worker made a comment a comment as I was coming out of the ladies room that I had gained my weight back. Let's just say I want to curl up in a little ball and start bawling out of self-pity. I know he's right.
I don't think I'm doing anything right.
I know what worked for me before and I'm going to get off my lazy ass and do it without complaining. Now that my personal life is getting into a nice smooth rhythm.
I got to do something. I am becoming desperate...

Jumping on Alton Brown's epiphany trail...
Alton Brown's Guidelines
So what is he eating? According to his fan blog (Thanks for the heads up, Jimmy Moore!) he ate these foods.
Daily
- Fruits
- Whole Grains
- Leafy Greens
- Nuts
- Carrots
- Green Tea
3 times a week
- Oily Fish (He loves sardines!)
- Yogurt
- Broccoli
- Sweet Potato
- Avocado
Once a week
- Red meat
- Pasta
- Dessert
- Alcohol
NEVER!
- Fast Food
- Soda
- Processed meals/frozen dinners
- Canned soup
- “Diet” anything
PLUS: Eat breakfast every day, no exceptions.
These are his guidelines and an idea of what he does and does not do.
Ironically, this is exactly what my ex-trainer, Ralphie told me what I had to eat to succeed over 2 years ago!
It keeps coming back to him.
This week I will have my thyroid rechecked and see if there are problems or something else. I am gaining weight. There is no point in denying the obvious.
I must do something now. I know I can do it. I've done it before.
The good news I am meeting up with a new trainer. She is for training only and does not give out nutrition information. I want to fire up my techniques and get my body going in the right direction once again.
As for nutrition, I'm doing this on my own.

How am I doing?
I'm feeling better than I have in months and that's a start!
My menu consists of whole eggs, mayo, olive oils, meat, fish, and almonds. I abandoned the fruit for a while and tell you the truth I don't miss the "sweet" at all. My energy has improved and I sleep better at night. Have I lost any weight? A couple of pounds. Nothing to really right about in that department. Pants feel a bit looser.
I just want to keep the momentum going with little stress. Do my thing. Eat when and what I should and listen to my trainer and doctor.
Take care!
